Never scared

Happy Last Day of 2009!
I'm chilling at Casey's house. We're gonna drink cider out of crystal champagne flutes, play on our laptops, bake, and drink juiceboxes like grownups. It's gonna be awesomefreakingtastic. Because what seventeen-year-old doesn't like to have mini-parties without juiceboxes and pudding?
So I've decided that 2010 is gonna be an amazing year, like pretty much every year ever. I have so many resolutions that it's beyond hilarious. And I'm determined to stick to at least a couple of 'em. Every year, I drop most of them, but I want this year to be different, better, absolutely amazing.
Right now, we're watching Glee. Earlier, we were watching a cartoon like grown-ups.
Life is so good. :)
Happy New Year!

And we're waiting

I really, really need to just avoid Blogger for a couple days. This is getting ridiculous.
My nephew just came into my room. It's so funny how whenever he sees Christmas lights, he gets this giant smile, and points at them saying "Liiiiiiiiiiiiiight!" And his voice gets really high-pitched, and it's kinda adorable. So that's exactly what he did when he saw the lights in my room. I've got a string of blue lights hung up around my window, and when it's dark, they give my room a really cool underwater glow.
Now I'm going to be really lame and show you pictures of my nephews, who have a tendency to make me smile. Oh, and my niece, who has a tendency to get on my nerves.

Vidal is on the left, and Jacob is on the right. Vidal was the one who came into my room earlier. And that's my niece last halloween on top.

Okay, no blogging for at least two days. Ehhh...

Don't you disappear

Happy Sunday!
Wow, I have posted so many entries lately. It's bonkers. And proof that I have way too much time to waste.

Excitement in my bones

So guess who pulled a 1760 on the SAT with virtually no effort whatsoever? That's, right, your friendly neighbourhood procrasinator. :)
My mom's so obnoxiously happy that she didn't even quibble when I told her that I basically didn't study. I upped myself by fifty points, almost all of them from the math section.
Okay, so we're off to Borders and Wal-Mart. I'm getting four books today, so now I'm the happy one. :D

Burning brighter than the sun

Merry Christmas!
I got some amazing loot this year. A Taylor Swift CD I've been asking for, PopRocks, a book I've been wanting to read, and, best of all, a laptop. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with it. :)
Hope your Christmas has been as good, and I hope you got some pretty amazing stuff.

With every Christmas card I write

Really, nothing much to share. Whole day full of family and loud children and my niece and nail polish, which probably went to my head.

Anyway, happy Tuesday!

A houspainter's solace

I painted my nails, a real feat considering I'm inept at all things beautifying. Just thought I'd share.
So, how about a little more elaboration about last night? I don't have too much to elaborate on, but nevertheless. I mean, I rarely go anywhere, and (shocker) this is the first party I've gone to that doesn't have to do with a birthday cake. So I'm gonna make the most of this. :)
It's crazy, but some of the people got me to dance a little bit. A very little bit, but considering the fact that I'm convinced that I absolutely cannot dance, it was quite something. I more or less learned how to do the shuffle.
It sucks that Casey didn't get to go, but I had fun anyway. At first, I was miles out of my comfort zone, but after a while, I kind of relaxed a little. I'm a very shy person. Some (my mom) might call me antisocial, but that's not exactly the case. Eh.
Erika got all OCD about folding chairs. ;) Yes, Erika, there were enough chairs.
Well, anyway, it's time to get in the Christmas spirit, if you haven't already. Awkward Family Photos, one of my all-time favourite sites, is doing this 12 days to Christmas countdown. It's pretty funny. :)
Well, that's actually all.
Hooray for winter break!

Let's do the Time Warp again!

Tonight was sosososo amazing!

I went to Erika's Christmas party, where my head nearly exploded with sugar. I actually have a sore throat from the sugar. And the yelling, but that's beside the point.

We sang, we danced, we did the Time Warp (whoo!) and we played Musical Chairs with college kids. Erika and the college freshman were the most violent players, that's for sure.

I'm sorry the entry's not longer, but I'm so sleepy! It was amazing. :)

It was electric

You know, it's been a while since I've posted clothing. That's terrible, isn't it? So just pretend that today is Tuesday. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

Happy Pretend Tuesday! Now I'm off to enjoy my vacation. :)

[PeaceLoveJoy]

Jingle around the clock

Huzzuh, three weeks of sleeping in and looking at vintage clothing are yawning before me. FINALLY. I have needed a break, and a chance to watch movies all day. Funny Face and Mamma Mia are calling my name.
I got a couple wonderful presents. An adorable teddy bear from Erika (thanks, by the way! He's so fluffy!) and a cool mini-ocean from Vivian. It's just blue water and vegetable in a water bottle, and it's too cool. :)
Our AP Environmental Science project was absolutely amazing. We presented a chapter about energy, and we had a really cool game with yarn and foam signs with cute creatures on them. And, needless to say, we got one of the highest scores there.
I've passed all of my classes, hooray for me. Mostly A's and B's. I may have a C in Trig, but that's okay with me. As long as I pass it.
Well, that's it for now.

What helps the intuition

All right, all right, I know it's naive of me to think that the world can be all sunshine and rainbows, but I'm too cynical to let myself be pessimistic, you know? Optimism is the only possible way I can keep myself from getting swallowed by the suckiness of the world.
Just had to get that out of the way.
So my mom, my niece, and I made these cool candy-coated cookies. They're just Oreos covered by chocolate and candy and other stuff. They're really cute, with little Santas and trees on top. We're going to give them to the neighbours.
Other than that, there's nothing much to report. I started watching Sixteen Candles, which I've never seen, but it got interrupted by the cookies. Guess what I'm doing tonight!

All that I know is I'm breathing now

So yesterday in my Government class, we started off by talking about Obama's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, which thus led to a forty-five minute debate about war and whether just war exists and whatnot. The teacher then told us to make a list of things we could do, policies and actions, to ease tension between the US and Al Quaeda (how do you spell that, by the way?). My idea was to give them flowers, or to throw a US-AQ fondue party where everyone got to take home bubbles. I mean, you can't possibly be upset with someone who gives you daisies or bubbles, right?
Anyway, there's this girl who just happens to have one of the highest GPAs in my school. Not because she's smart, which she is, but because she works for it. Erika told her that I don't have to work for my intelligence, and that my lack of work is the reason why my GPA is just below 3.0 (2.8 and climbing, baby!). Since then, this girl has been giving me dirty looks and trying to one-up me every time we debate.
Ah, the fun that is high school pettiness.
Today, she said that one or two good acts won't change anyone's opinion, that violence may not be the only option, but it was the fastest. I said that continually doing good acts could change their minds and on and on, and she just sat there and rolled my eyes.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only ray of sunshine in a sky full of clouds. And I was called a ray of sunshine today. People wanted to give me flowers because of my theory that they're only terrorists because they've never gotten flowers.
It's lovely to be sunny. :)
Oh, by the way, I love when people comment. I suck at returning comments, but frankly, you commentors make me oh-so happy!

You can keep all your misery.

So, I'm feeling miles better. In case you were curious.
I've got mountains of work to do before next Tuesday, and, of course, I'm waiting till the very last second. Go me! I mean, it will get done, just not until it absolutely must be done.
We've got our tree up. It's just malfunctioning a bit. The lights aren't working. My mom's got to fix that...
Um.
Yeah, I hate myself for this pointless entry. But I felt like writing, and who am I to get in my own way? Ha.
I'd better stop, actually, before I start rambling even more than I am now.
Happy holiday prepping! Embrace your inner materialistic human being. :)

Proof it's not a dream

I hung out with Casey on Thursday. We spent roughly two and a half hours at our favourite coffee place, It's a Grind, just talking about everything and enjoying our drinks. They make the best iced tea EVER. I'm just saying.
Yesterday, I retook the SAT. It wasn't any harder than last time, but it did seem longer. Decades longer.
And today, well...
Since Friday, I haven't been feeling too amazing. It's almost like a stomach bug, but not quite. And I'm exhausted, which I know for a fact is from my lack of sleep. I haven't been getting enough sleep in eons. I dunno. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. Here's hoping, right?

Someday I'll wish upon a star

I turned in my last application today, to UMaine at Machias. It's pretty great.
So it's back to school tomorrow. It was a good week, chock-full of thrifting, popcorn, Facebook, turkey, and Edward Scissorhands. It's a little dull, but it was fun.

I applied to CSU Long Beach today. Er, yesterday.

Edit:
I also applied to Humboldt and New Haven. Whoo! One left.

I'm tryin' not to let it show

Yesterday rocked. :)
I went thrifting with Casey, and we both came away with tons of stuff. I got a clutch, several sweaters, a pair of jeans, and a Toys R Us shopping bag — you know, one of the cool reusable ones. We even found a pair of Versace pants! True, they were purple pleather, but nevertheless, we shoulda put down the three dollars to get them. I mean — Versace!
After that, my mom picked us up and dropped us off at this weird little store called J's Teen Zone so that she could go to Avenue. After we explored this glorified dollar store, we went to Avenue, looked around at the stuff, and chilled behind a rack of clothes like crazy people. Then my mom took us to Farmer Boys for lunch, and then we went to my house to take inventory of our finds. Casey got so many brand-name things. I only got one, DKNY. An amazingly amazing sweater.
After that, her mom and dad drove us to the dollar theatre where we went to see The Vampire's Assistant. Apparently it wasn't that true to the book, but it was great. John C. Reilly was amazing in it.
Then my mom picked us up, dropped Casey off, came home, where I fell asleep at seven like a little kid who had an amazing day.

Well, I hope your Thanksgiving is great. And if I'm just saying this to myself, then I hope it goes great regardless. :)

Woke before the morning sun

Not really. I'm not a morning person. :)
So I've got amazing news: I am officially all caught up creditwise. It's all good. Especially since I'm currently not failing any classes, nor do I plan to. Academically, my life couldn't get any better!
I'm going thrifting with Casey on Tuesday. Great day to shop for clothes, right? I have all week off next week for Thanksgiving. And thank Chevy! I know I haven't been getting enough sleep for the past couple months. I think I'm a borderline insomniac.
That's about all the update I have.
Happy Sunday!

My hands deep in soil

Here's today/yesterday's goody.

Hope your day is great. Mine was. :)

They can hardly feel their spines

Ahh, Erika!
Okay, so, if I haven't mentioned it before, I'm going to now: for a while there, I was four credits behind, and as of Thursday, I am all caught up on that front. You know what that means. I'm graduating! Whoo!
Erika, on the other hand, has an F in English and is currently making up an F in Algebra 2, so she's been given the dreaded label of possible non-graduate. Let me tell ya, it's not a fun title.
So I've basically been harrassing her and mentally kicking her ass (like she asked me to, by the way), but she still hasn't turned in those essays. She has to graduate. There's no question about it.
Regardless, I'm sure she'll turn them in eventually. Right?
So how about a happy secret today?

You are the only exception

I'm still miserably sick, and so I got a second day off from school. I'm that sick. :( Plus, I have tomorrow off, but I won't get to really enjoy it. I'll be suffering the entire time. Dang.
Anyway, that's all, and today is Tuesday. You know what that means!

My current task: finding pictures of Casey for her graduation present. I'll tell you all about it when it's done. It's going to be amazing.

Also, happy Sunday!

Dance in the Rain

Ughhh, I think I have a cold. Thank goodness for those Halls Breezers!
Taylor Swift's on SNL tonight, which reeks of awesome. I adore her music. I moreorless scorn mainstream music, but I love her songs. They speak, you know? Although I might not stay up late enough to watch it. I've been sleepy for hours, dang cold.
Well, I'm off. My peppermint tea is steeping, and it smells so ridiculously good.

You can sing me anything

There was a lockdown today at school. Apparently, some kid had a concealed weapon. Because, you know, it's totally cool to tote weaponry around your high school; it makes you seem like a macho man. Ick.

I love listening to amazing songs. They put me in the best mood. :) Right now, I feel tremendously sunshiny.

What else...

Well, I guess there's nothing else to share. Wow, I'm boring! :)

Happy Tuesday!

Static silhouette somehow

I'm madly in love with Phoenix.
Yesterday was absolutely amazing! Somehow, someone got the clubhouse away from us, so I just decided to invite a few people and go trick-or-treating. So Casey and a couple of people from Thousand Trails came over for a mini-party. It was absolutely perfect. We hung out for a couple of hours, watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and played pool in costume before going trick-or-treating.

Melissa and Jessica were terrified repeatedly by the haunted houses we went through, and by Keiran every time he reached out and grabbed one of them. Poor Jessica probably screamed herself hoarse.

I FINALLY got a new cell phone. Good thing, too, since I've been missing texting. It's insane.

We didn't actually take any pictures, oddly enough. I brought out the camera and everything. We were too busy, you know?

Well, that was my Halloween in a nuthsell. My birthday was excellent. :)

We'll bury the castle

Ah, the wonderfulness that is clothing. :)

Anyway, the most interesting update I have is that I'm busy planning my birthday/Halloween party. My mom will NOT be thrilled that I didn't go get the Halloween stuff from the garage... But I have a great excuse: the weather.

Ooh, tomorrow, I'll be able to get cocoa from It's a Grind...

Well, that's all! Happyhappyfuntime!

Come roll the dice for me

I know I said I was back last time, but then, the virus came back with a vengeance. So my brother reinstalled Windows and our computer is shiny and clean on the inside. And, best of all, my Internet access is no longer sporadic. My mom fixed that. So I'm back, babeh!
Unfortunately, we didn't go to Lytle Creek; we went to San Diego instead. :) That was so much fun! I mean, it's ridiculous how much fun we had. I'm actually IMing Casey about it. We played this card game, Mao, that my cousin and his friend hated so much that they ended up loving it. And let me tell you, by the end of the weekend, those boys were positively wrapped around our fingers. Justin (my cousin's friend) would've done anything for my brownie points; James (my cousin) was totally into Casey. We went to the beach that Saturday, and buried the boys and gave them sandboobs. Casey even added a touch of realism, with the help of those kelp bubble things that you pop, if you catch my drift. I'll post the pictures once she does. :)
We went to Old Town that Friday, and got some great photos. I'll put them on my Flickr account tonight, and I'll give you the link to that later. We went to the Whaley (sp?) House, which is not only one of the first brick houses in California, but is supposedly one of the most haunted places in America. Actually, Casey and I kinda-sorta felt it in the dining room. Casey felt ill; I felt panicked, like the ceiling was going to crash over me. The boys kind of mocked us, but that's just because they're no fun. :)
That's all the real update from San Diego.
TooCool moved a few weeks ago, unfortunately. But it's okay, because I can always find someone else to set my sights on. :)
Now, that's all the updates I have for you.

Before you fired the gun

Autumn's coming up fast. I love/hate the fall. On one hand, the lighting and the clothing and the general clarity is absolutely amazing. But on the other, it's so cold and windy here. In the AV, we have no transition between the miserably hot summer and the even more miserably cold winter. Spring is the only transition season we have, and everyone's allergies are acting up then, so there's no enjoyment. I'm the crazy one, I suppose.
I'm eagerly waiting for October. My family is going camping in Lytle Creek, a little mountain town with a great campsite. I'm inviting Casey, and there's a good chance that she'll be able to go after all.
I'm trying to persuade Erika to go to the school's upcoming Blackout Dance on Friday. And Elizabeth. It'd be so much fun. I'll update on that if there's anything to share.
It's Tuesday, and I have dubbed Tuesday as Clotheshorse Tuesday. Today's item is an amazing dress from Pixie Market. :) I'm into zippers. And killer shoes. And the colour purple — but really, really dark purple.
Have I mentioned that I love fall fashion?
I wish I had more money to supplement my summery wardrobe. I also wish that I could fit into something dropdead amazing, but that's another story. Actually, it's another blog. You know.
Well, that's all for now, folks. Have a happy Wednesday.

So long to no disasters

Sorry it's been so long. My computer had a virus. I think we finally kicked it (in the face), so I'm back online. Good thing, too. My teachers must have just known, so they all decided to assign homework that requires Internet access. I win now. :)
Anyway.
Not too much to catch up on.
I spent Monday at Casey's house, where we spent about eight hours playing RockBand. We're total rockstars, if I do say so myself. We also helped her parents to wash their trailer. It's a really, really nice trailer, with two sliders and satellite TV. Plus, it makes their house homier in comparison. ;)
I had a strange conversation with Erika a couple of days ago that resulted in her new, somewhat random, decision to become an environmentalist. More power to her, of course. Haha. I can see her doing really well in that field, actually.
Umm...
I took a personality test in Psychology yesterday. I'm a Rational. I'm logical and a natural introvert. Of course, I knew all of this already, but it's kind of nice to have confirmation of it, you know?
I've been making routine pilgrimages to the mailbox, hoping to see TooCool. So far, no luck.
Well, I guess there's nothing else.
I'll be posting more soon. Probably tomorrow, to put up a PostSecret secret.

My Song Will Be Public Domain

Okay, last post of te night. I promise.
Casey's up in Thousand Trails, where she's been all summer long. Well, we just so happen to be in Southern California, where the fires have been burning. Today, it was pretty insane; my living room was bathed in goldish-orange light, and outside, it was even more goldish-orange. It was snowing ash and everything.
She texted not long ago and said that she can actually see distinct flames. It's snowing ash still and everyone's waking around with surgical masks and bandanas over their faces. She and her mom are toughing it out for now, since nothing's burning too closely, but they're probably going to come home early.
Nevertheless, I'm hoping they're okay.
I'm also praying in an upward motion that my uncle isn't going to be called up. This statement requires an epic amount of explanation, doesn't it? Well, I'll explain the latter part right now. The first part is for a completely different day.
My uncle's a firefighter — captian of the Kern County Fire Department, in fact.
Wow, some explanation. A whole sentence!
Okay, okay, enough writing. I won't write anymore until midnight at least. You know, a different date. ;)
[Peace, Love, Joy]

Gallery of Broken Hearts

Check out Ingrid Micahelson. Her song "Be OK" is great, especially the acoustic version.
Okay, so, this is basically the second blog I've kept with this same title. Only now, it's known as "Archival Numero Uno," from a bout of silliness. Most of what I am comes from a bout of silliness and that might be what makes me so...something.
Anyway.
Let's see what information I can share with you.
I'm sixteen, and a senior in high school, which my profile tells you. I'm madly in love with Carpenteria State Beach, where I spent a portion of my summer. I love to write, but I love fish more. ;) I wish I owned more shoes; particularly these. I'm OCD about the number 10, and even numbers in general, but my favourite number is the number 13. I'm pretty smart, but sometimes, I can be tremendously slow — I have moments where I pay absolutely no attention to the world around me. I have a bizarre sense of humour — basically, life itself is a laugh riot. I use phrases like "laugh riot."
My friends and family are my life, but it's nearly disturbing how happy I can be when I'm alone, just chilling. I'm happiest when I'm listening to music and/or reading.
I think style blogs are the shizz. If you've got one, then share it with me.
Two of my absolute best friends: Casey and Erika. Both of them are absolute dorks, and, well, so am I. That's the making of some good friendships, if you ask me. :)
The Shamwow guy scares the life outta me, and not just because of the "incident." His face is just creepy to me. But I think Shamwows are the coolest.
I hate most roller coasters, but the Colassus at Magic Mountain makes me happy.
I'm most defintiely a coward. Just ask TooCool (who may or may not ever be referred to by his real name). And about half the rides at the AV fair.
Kids' rides also make me tremendously happy. Just ask Casey. :D
Okay, so I guess I'm done sharing. I'll update soon, if there's anything to update on.

[Peace, Love, Joy]
