All that I know is I'm breathing now

So yesterday in my Government class, we started off by talking about Obama's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, which thus led to a forty-five minute debate about war and whether just war exists and whatnot. The teacher then told us to make a list of things we could do, policies and actions, to ease tension between the US and Al Quaeda (how do you spell that, by the way?). My idea was to give them flowers, or to throw a US-AQ fondue party where everyone got to take home bubbles. I mean, you can't possibly be upset with someone who gives you daisies or bubbles, right?
Anyway, there's this girl who just happens to have one of the highest GPAs in my school. Not because she's smart, which she is, but because she works for it. Erika told her that I don't have to work for my intelligence, and that my lack of work is the reason why my GPA is just below 3.0 (2.8 and climbing, baby!). Since then, this girl has been giving me dirty looks and trying to one-up me every time we debate.
Ah, the fun that is high school pettiness.
Today, she said that one or two good acts won't change anyone's opinion, that violence may not be the only option, but it was the fastest. I said that continually doing good acts could change their minds and on and on, and she just sat there and rolled my eyes.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only ray of sunshine in a sky full of clouds. And I was called a ray of sunshine today. People wanted to give me flowers because of my theory that they're only terrorists because they've never gotten flowers.
It's lovely to be sunny. :)
Oh, by the way, I love when people comment. I suck at returning comments, but frankly, you commentors make me oh-so happy!

  1. We talked about obama speech as well in our class. I love you way of thinkging at least you have an idea how to make the world a better place. Even though some courtry might think the flowers have a bomb in then. So Sarah It's very hard to say that it might help. theirs not a lot of people that have a heart of gold, sorry.
